When the zombie apocalypse is upon us and the world has gone dark, civilization as we know it will never be the same…or will it? Most of us who actually prepare for the undead will no doubt continue to inhabit the world and rebuild pockets of civilization.

But the worst thing about the zombie apocalypse will be the fact that we’ll run out of electricity.  The question then becomes how the heck are we going to be able to get electricity to power our tech gadgets so we can post Facebook updates of our zombie kills?

Well, our friends over at Inhabitat.com have come up with a list of ways to charge our gadgets with renewable energy. This list includes kinetic energy generators, pedal power bicycle generators and wind and solar chargers.

My favorite one is the nPower PEG, a kinetic energy generator that harvests energy from your movements as you go from place to place while evading hordes of zombies. Simply drop the nPower PEG into your survival pack and it will convert your energy into electricity that can be used to charge your cell phone, MP3 player, or camera.

Afterall, who wouldn’t want to listen to some zombie-slaughtering music on their iPods while hacking away at the undead? (Think Denzel Washington in The Book of Eli)
